About

I have always felt a strong passion for nature. Being fortunate enough to have a childhood filled with daily sea swims and adventures on Bodmin moor, I had this incredible appreciation for our natural world from a really young age. My love for nature and art has led to me exploring the endless ways of using natural materials to sculpt and create.

I’ve always been a maker, a hands-on person and a do-er. It was at the very end of my studies at university that I found willow weaving. As part of my final university project, I contacted The Lost Gardens of Heligan and asked if I could create a sustainably made art installation to sit within the gardens. Much to my excitement they agreed and commence four months of myself and a close friend of mine learning how to weave for the first time ever! After promising to deliver a three-meter large hand sculpture made completely from willow and recycled materials, the pride we felt when it all came together has stuck with me ever since. I fell in love with weaving and began to explore how else I could use willow and how much I could push the boundaries of the material. The Lost Gardens were so pleased with the final result that they decided to keep Nature’s Hand as a permanent installation in The Lost Valley.

People and place have always resonated with me, which is why I’ve found myself working so often with local communities. There is always so much to be learnt from the sharing of stories and mutual appreciation for our natural spaces. This is why I divide my time between running workshops, creating bespoke sculptures, working in schools, and creating visual elements for community arts projects.
